Company Division Details
It is not the first time that Ford has created new divisions to focus on new technologies and model categories. However, what the company is doing in regards to Ford Blue and Ford Model-E is remarkable. They are not relying solely on in-house talent to generate their desired changes. They are recruiting start-up companies to help with the work too. With the startup companies, they will create an array of complementary businesses that will focus on different aspects of each division.
The start-ups will be paired with masters who have worked on some of the most popular and capable Ford vehicles, including the iconic Bronco brand. Jim Farley, CEO of Ford Motor Company, said, "Our legacy organization has been holding us back. We had to change."
The changes to the division structure will make it possible for Ford to produce more than 1 million electric vehicles per year beginning in the second half of this decade.
However, that is only part of the plan. Ford intends to invest a mind-blowing 30 billion dollars in electric vehicle advancement and production from now to 2025. The combination of heavy investment, new creative minds, and division reorganization will help the company achieve its goal of making great advancements in the auto industry.
Ford Blue As we mentioned in the introduction, Ford Blue is the new division Ford is creating to handle the internal combustion engine models they currently produce. The Ford Blue lineup will include the cars, trucks, and sport utility vehicles that Americans everywhere have come to know and love, along with a few new additions.
Among the newest additions to Ford's internal combustion engine lineup is the Ford Bronco Raptor, the largest commercially available sport utility vehicle in the United States. Preorders opened in March of 2022, and demand is high, so sign up to secure yours today.
It comes with a unique hood that is ideal for engine heat extraction so that you can cover off-road terrain for longer periods of time. It will come powered by a 3.0-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine with horsepower and torque numbers that haven't been released yet. It also comes with massive fender flares and a set of huge 37-inch off-road tires.
The much-loved Ford Explorer will soon get a rework through Ford Blue. The ST-Line version, in particular, will see notable changes, including 20-inch aluminum wheels, special badges inside and out, an integrated dual exhaust system, and ultra-comfortable ActiveX synthetic leather seats.
Ford Model-E
The Ford electric vehicle lineup is starting out small, but the division of companies and labor should see innovation, production, and new model releases skyrocket over time. Ford Motor Company presently manufactures three fully electric vehicles: the E-Transit-350 Cargo, the Mustang Mach-E, and the F-150 Lightning.
All three of these vehicles are innovative in their own way, and that pattern is sure to continue with Ford's new electric vehicles going forward. The average range of an electric business vehicle in the United States is 74 miles per charge. Ford's E-Transit runs 217 miles per charge. This makes it the longest-range complete electrical business cargo vehicle in America.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is another sort of beast entirely. It carries on the grand and classic tradition of the muscular mustang but with deeply green engine operation. It can sprint from zero to 60 in a breathtaking 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 130 mph. The GT version has a  motor that pounds out an astounding 480 horsepower and 600 pound-feet of torque.
The F-150 Lightning is Ford's first attempt at a fully electric pickup truck. This powerful all-electric pickup truck can tow up to 7,700 pounds while carrying a cargo payload of 2,000 pounds and up to five occupants.
The new Model-E company will accelerate all aspects of electric vehicle innovation and creation in a new plant, which is part of Ford's 11.4 billion dollar factory expansion. One of the four relevant factories will be entirely dedicated to Ford Model-E labor.
With these production increases, Ford hopes to bring its percentage of electric vehicles to internal combustion vehicles up to 50. These new innovations will involve more than just the electric motors, batteries, and electrical systems of Ford's new EVs. They'll push Ford's software, user experience, interior design, hardware, motors, and batteries to new heights.
Investor Information
Ford Pro, Ford Blue, and Ford Model-E will create extra value for their shareholders through this new division of talent and company structure. Ford Pro will add service and maintenance options for vehicles from both Blue and Model-E.
By 2023, they will be fully operational with discrete profit and loss statements and other notable reports. Ford Blue and Ford Model-E will separately trade once they are fully established.
The move to create distinct companies dedicated to different vehicle innovation and production categories was a welcome one among investors. Upon the announcement, shares of Ford stocks rose by almost 5% on Wall Street.
Don't worry. The division of companies won't have an impact on the dealerships. You'll be able to get all of your Ford vehicles from the same dependable sources that you always have.
