Welcome to another edition of #MeetUsMonday here Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln!
Today, we'd like to introduce you to Randy Hastings, Service Manager at our new store on W. 26th Street.
Have you been helped by Randy? We'd love to hear from you in the comments!
Question: What is the nicest thing about working at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln?
Randy: The people I work with and the atmosphere wrapped around it. I feel like it’s a team environment. Our people are willing to jump in and help in every situation even when it’s not their responsibility.
Q: What should first-time visitors know about Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln?
R: First time visitors should know that we are ready and equipped to help them with whatever service they need. We have 25 Ford-certified technicians, rating in the top for the nation – so you know that your vehicle is getting fixed right the first time.
We also hold more parts than any other Ford dealer in South Dakota, so we can fix more vehicles same day without any delays.
Q: With a brand-new facility, what have you been most excited about in the updated service department?
R: I’ve worked in numerous dealerships, and I know that our guests are truly stepping into a state-of-the-art dealership facility. Every aspect of this building was put in for a reason – every detail has a purpose. For example, acoustical ceiling tiles, perforated steel, slotted block walls & ribbed floor tiles in our service shop minimize the noise by absorbing it. A large difference for our technicians from our previous service shop.
This facility was built with the goal of making the work environment for employees and the experience for our guests as great as it can be.
Q: What does a typical workday look like for you?
R: I try to be the first one in the door. We open at 7am and I like to make sure we are ready for our guests. It’s also my time to go through reporting. Throughout the day I work to make sure our customers are being taken care of and help with any concerns. My goal is to build an atmosphere that our 87 service employees would like to work in and our guests feel welcome in.
Q: What are the biggest changes you’ve seen in the automotive industry?
R: Technology. When I started 25 years ago, technicians worked in the dark. Today, technicians have a lot more help using diagnostic tools and online support. There are 23 different computers in the average vehicle, so technicians are essentially the most technical employees a dealership has.
Q: What kind of car do you drive, and what are some things you like about it?
R: I drive a 2017 Ford F-350 Super Duty. I like the interior room for family, and I love the power when towing my camper for camping. The technology inside is nothing like I’ve had in any car or truck in the past.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
R: Whatever my wife & children want to do – including biking, camping, swimming and fishing (yes, they like fishing more than me)!
