Question 1: What do you like about working in the Quick Lane at Sioux Falls Ford Lincoln?
Shane: I'm very fortunate to work here because I'm empowered to make the necessary decisions that help us provide a very Nice experience for every customer who comes in the door.
Question 2: When people come to the Quick Lane for the first time, what surprises them?
Shane: It's a fast, reliable service with passionate employees working in a positive environment. The positive work environment is very important for me. As the department manager, I really enforce positivity. When our team is feeling good about their work, our customers are feeling good about us.
Most people think that we're a typical oil change shop, but we can do much more than that, and we do it really well. The Quick Lane does a wide range of maintenance services, including brakes, batteries, tires, and more. We also handle belts and fluid flushes.
Question 3: Before you came to Sioux Falls Ford, you were a flight paramedic at Sanford Health. How does that experience help you in the Quick Lane?
Shane: My skills as a flight paramedic actually help me quite a bit here. When I was working as a flight paramedic, our team had to stay extremely calm, focused and positive so that we could perform effectively. That's definitely important here. I would say that teamwork and efficiency are key in both jobs.
Question 4: When people come to Sioux Falls Ford for the first time, they'll notice that the building has four service doors. What happens if someone picks the wrong door?
Shane: [Laughs.] The four doors might look intimidating from the outside, but you really can't pick the wrong door. The Quick Lane has a seamless relationship with the Service Center at Sioux Falls Ford. All four of our lanes are connected on the inside of the building, so if we need you to go to a different place, we'll either ask you to move or even move your vehicle for you. We work hard to provide a seamless and Nice experience for every customer, no matter what door they choose.
Question 5: What do you do in your free time?
Shane: I have a 19-year-old and a 14-year-old. My 14-year-old plays year-round baseball, and he trains in Florida this time of year, so that keeps us pretty busy.
